"Blessed are the curious for they shall have adventures."
Awww.. Back home to Ambergris Caye for our 2nd visit. Having done our research, we picked Caye Casa based on location, great reviews, and smaller hotel feel and so glad we did! We took the ferry from the island of Caye Caulker, only about an hour ride, with great views. In previous emails with Caye Casa they advised us to take a taxi and have the driver come in and they would pay the taxi fee. It was a 10 minute ride form the dock to Caye Casa, and we were in our room within 20 minutes of arriving at the dock. Easy peasy!
HIS VIEW - Quaint boutique hotel. Very clean with small pool in front, beach chairs, and a nice private dock. You will be greeted by a big ass German Shepard (there are two, but only one of them is “on duty”), The owner lives on the top floor (next to our room) and was very friendly along with the rest of her staff.
HER VIEW - This boutique lodging is one of our favorite places we have stayed in our travels, and we will be back for sure! We loved the beautiful ocean views and spent each morning sipping coffee, feeling relaxed and even being able to get morning puppy love from the new resident puppy Caya. In fact the property has 2 amazing German Shepherds, the oldest one named Reef. I loved Reef - he was so mellow, watching over his precious property and coveted guests and giving a sense of peace and protection. One of the highlights of our stay as I was missing my doggies back home. We enjoyed the small pool to take a dip and cool off, and the loungers out in front of the hotel were perfect for relaxing, watching people going by and of course again the beautiful ocean views. Location was absolutely perfect for us!! Just across and down the street were great bars /restaurants and behind the hotel a block was one of the best bakeries we have been to - check out our food reviews. We loved how clean the entire hotel was, housekeeping was spot on, and all staff were super friendly.
HIS VIEW - Quaint little spot with a comfortable bed, light and bright with nice decor. Patio out front with two chairs that were great to enjoy breakfast or drinks.
HER VIEW - We stayed in the "Sun Caye Classic" room which is on the top 3rd floor and the room was greatly equipped with bottled water dispenser, coffee maker, and little fridge. It was on the smaller size, but we loved the coziness and the view out the glass door from bed was amazing (see pic below). The bathroom was size-able and loved the open walk in shower. We got a couple of quick visit with the owner Julie, since the owner's suite was next to ours, and she is a gem. The room is super quiet, the bed was so comfy, and wifi worked great. We loved how clean the entire hotel was, housekeeping was spot on, and all staff were super friendly. Next stay we are thinking of doing the larger 1 bedroom units on the 2nd floor - they have great outdoor balconies. For the price, location, safety and views.. it really is a great place to stay!
HIS VIEW - Great view of the ocean, and passers by on bikes, or golf carts. It was nice to see and hear the palm trees and life of the town behind us.
HER VIEW - Oh the wonderful views.. swaying palm trees in the wind, various blues from the ocean to the sky, watching the people on bicycles and golf carts leisurely cruising by. A world of relaxation and paradise. I our pool view pics below say it all! That's me trying to "rope" in a bit of paradise to bring home.
